Resources

Guides for GTM audits your team can repeat.

Use these resources to prepare an export, understand analysis limits, and connect the workflow to versions and human review.

Export a GTM container

In GTM, open Admin, choose Export Container, select a version or workspace, and download the JSON. Export a known version so an audit result remains reproducible.

Google Tag Manager Help

Use versions as a baseline

Save an audit before and after a change. Compare score and findings, then validate in Preview and against the published version before treating a fix as live.

Review Consent Mode

For Google tags, set a default consent state before interaction and update it when the visitor makes a choice. The auditor only checks structural signals in the export.

Prepare client workspaces

For production multi-tenancy, use identity-provider organizations and permissions, then enforce those permissions on the server before returning or changing client data.

Important limits

Structure does not replace production validation.

Tag Audit Studio reads the exported JSON: it does not observe network requests, live consent states, browser dataLayer values, or tag behaviour on published pages. Use Preview, Tag Assistant, and GTM version review before publishing.
